make a change.. kill yourself - albums one and two

post number one hundred already so let's make it a good one.
in fact, let's make it absolutely magnificent!

this is all just one man, from denmark. atmospheric / depressive (but massively uplifting really) black metal, fans of xasthur, wolves and all that should have a new favourite band here! best black metal i've heard in over a decade.

one

two

shellac - at action park

it's shellac! and this is their best one (care to discuss?!), unsettling grooves, weird riffs, intelligent, stark and uncompromising stuff. very difficult to tag, so don't shout at me because it's not totally on the ball.

mars volta - de-loused in the comatorium

in my opinion, their best album. amazing progressive sounds.

krallice - krallice

behold the arctopus clientele playing wolves in the throne room-esque technical black metal!

king crimson - the power to believe

latest album from king crimson, we neeeed more of this!! unfortunately, after reading about the state of king crimson it looks unlikely there'll be any more.

jig-ai - self titled

completely over the top but essential grind slam feast from the czech republic, comes complete with brujeria cover and lots of stupid vocals!

integrity - humanity is the devil

simple but beastly hardcore from one of the best. vocal test into hollow is just incredible, and abraxas annihilation is one of the angriest sounding songs i've heard.

implosive disgorgence - chapters

five track shortie from brutal death slammers ID, colossal (quite sloppy in parts, but it just does not matter!)

gridlink - amber gray

vocalist of discordance axis then did this! completely obliterating thrashing grind.

his hero is gone - monuments to thieves

the blue print for all crust / dark hardcore. everything changed when this band turned up!

gorguts - obscura / from wisdom to hate

5 years after their first 2 still pretty weird / interesting technical old school death albums came these 2 monsters. both genius. if you like any sort of intelligent, challenging music, then you should give these a go with minds open.

obscura

from wisdom to hate

gorgoroth - pentagram

since i first heard this, it's been pretty much my favourite black metal album, ultra harsh vocals and amazing songs. last one is in my top 5 songs ever.

enoid - ad nilem

satyricon / craft-esque black metal, some strange twists and turns in this.

earthtone9 - arc-tan-gent

progressivey metally rocky atmosphericy riffy stuffs.

discordance axis - quadruple post of utter genius grindcore

so, thought i'd post up a good collection of discordance axis works, for me it's all about jouhou and inalienable dreamless, but worth checking the others out as well. discordance axis are the epitome of grindcore for me, and nobody will ever match 'the inalienable dreamless', harshest, most intense ride imaginable.

original sound version (discography)

ulterior album on its own

jouhou

and the absolute masterpiece 'the inalienable dreamless'. best grind album ever, no exceptions.

floor - floor / dove

stoner sludge riff grooves with one added extra BOOMS of awesomeness. folks may know of torche, this is pre-torche, and, well, floor are better!

dove

floor

immortal - pure holocaust

immortal are comedy now, but still this album is still an amazing black metal monolith. utterly savage, relentless battering, brilliant songs, intense riffs.

oh, immortal, what have you become?!

squarepusher - port rhombus ep

electro / bass / broken up beats along the lines of aphex twin (but then interviews with richard d. james reveal it was squarepusher that inspired aphex twin's change of style). utterly amazing, very old ep, super cool yo! ;-)
