As good a cover version of anything you'll ever get, and should totally dispell the myth that death metal isn't a true form of highly gifted musicianship. This is immense, and the solos are bang on too!

Captain Beefheart (belated-RIP) - Old Grey Whistle Test 1974 - Live Video

Here to download (click the Mediafire link as ever at the bottom), is a video of 'This is the day' from The Old Grey Whistle Test.



The best story that makes me like and appreciate Beefheart even more, as much as any of the actual recordings would, is on HERE, where it says 'The last Magic Band drummer, Cliff Martinez, now a film soundtrack composer, was once given a cassette of drum parts to learn, which turned out to be a recording of Beefheart and his wife washing up after dinner. Somehow he managed to approximate this "percussive activity".'

What more do you need?! Revolutionary, insane, genius. Sadly missed.

Here we have some Brum noisies, just a drum and bass ensemble, and there are two EPs uploaded in this post. Get them both checked out. 'Eternal sunshine' is an older one, and a more noisy affair with some interesting ideas from a band finding their sound I think, whereas the self titled EP is a lot more structured, riffy, confident sounding, with sludgier elements and having more coherence. If you are into the Lightning Bolt sort of sound realm then give these some of your time and see what you think.

Cerebral Bore music video - 'Bald Cadaver'

Here's the lovely Cerebral Bore mob with their brand spanking music video 'The Bald Cadaver', featuring their new vocalist, and filmed by Phil Berridge at Creative Junkie, I'll post up more of his stuff now that he's done for other friend's bands (as well as my previous band Reth). Top lad, artist, and working with quality folks as well. Good skills all round. Get watching this video you brutal death fans.

diascorium - live video 'all things spoil' & 'cnidaria'

Diascorium recently played the Destruction of Colwyn Bay all dayer, July 17th, 2010, and plenty of footage was taken. This is the best. 3 minutes of ravaging, discordant, harsh doom in the shape of 'All Things Spoil', into the set closer, technical death black metal epic 'Cnidaria', the lights and bizarre imagery go together really well with the sounds... see what you think.
