Mucofloris - I Ingest The Elixir Of Life

So, here is Mucofloris's second EP, and what an absolute stomper it is. 18 more minutes of awesome Southern England technical, grinding, metallic, hardcore-ing awesomeness, with oddball and doomy bits thrown in for good measure.

Get this, and then go get THIS as well, their first EP, three tracks of madness!.

Soon, I shall be uploading the entire My Cross To Bare discography as well to all be available for the first time ever... Keep your eyes peeled for that. Nowadays deathcore doesn't know what it's playing at in comparison to their utter brutal riffologies!

AN ANNOUNCEMENT:-
Just this morning I've been talking to Matt the guitarist of Mucofloris, who tells me that Mucofloris have officially called it a day. Absolutely sad times. Make sure you get this and then get on their web pages and tell them how awesome they are. I'll post up news of their future projects on here.

Stairland - Shapeless

There should be way more about this band on the internet, but, there is pretty much nothing at all. I got sent this EP about 8 or 9 years ago for review on the Raw Nerve site (now defunct), and as a fan of Meshuggah I loved it instantly. Fans need to hear this, but there is something completely unique about this, the crunching riffs mixed with drum and bass sections, just weird ideas all over the place.

They disbanded in 2004, and there is just this and one other recording called 'Chung' available by them, what a huge shame.

Internet searches revealed very little information about the band at all, so revel in this one folks, this is pure underground heaviness! I despite the term Djent, but, if ever there was something that deserved the label, it's this monster!

Here is a picture that I would name The Land Of Stairs...

Mucofloris - EP Demo

For those of you that know of My Cross To Bare (and you most definitely should), they are now RIP'd, but 4/5ths have carried on to make Mucofloris. Ultra technical metallic hardcore grinding immensities. This is just a 3 track taster from 2009, they have a new one, it may end up on here, but in the meantime, you should head to their myspace and get listening... Watch out for lots of MCTB releases, and a total unreleased exclusive album on this very blog soon.

Foul Body Autopsy - EP

So, here is solo man Tom Reynolds under the guise of Foul Body Autopsy, a mint five song EP that he's shared with all, that has a quality production as well as some top riffs, ideas and twiddlings. The most obvious major influence comes from Necrophagist, but you get some Beneath The Massacre, Death, Origin, and a few hints of deathcore related bands in there too, to mosh it all up a bit.

Recently played a gig with him in Manchester, supporting Prostitute Disfigurement and he was class... so, get listening and supporting. As ever, if YOU like this sort of thing, and know folks who would like it, TELL THEM, please spread the word of great artists letting their music be heard for free.

diascorium - live video 'all things spoil' & 'cnidaria'

Diascorium recently played the Destruction of Colwyn Bay all dayer, July 17th, 2010, and plenty of footage was taken. This is the best. 3 minutes of ravaging, discordant, harsh doom in the shape of 'All Things Spoil', into the set closer, technical death black metal epic 'Cnidaria', the lights and bizarre imagery go together really well with the sounds... see what you think.

More videos are at http://www.myspace.com/diascorium

viraemia - viraemia

think along the lines of brain drill, beneath the massacre, necrophagist, but sillier than all of them!

wormed - planisphaerium

ultra brutal death metal! wormed are spanish, and very very silly indeed!

upsilon acrux - galapagos momentum

instrumental noodlings of the highest order, often overlooked band, but very much worth a look if you like being confused.

king crimson - the power to believe

latest album from king crimson, we neeeed more of this!! unfortunately, after reading about the state of king crimson it looks unlikely there'll be any more.

gorguts - obscura / from wisdom to hate

5 years after their first 2 still pretty weird / interesting technical old school death albums came these 2 monsters. both genius. if you like any sort of intelligent, challenging music, then you should give these a go with minds open.

obscura

as the sun sets - each individual voice is dead

essential harsh screamy core / grind stuff. pre-daughters, way better! the way the first song drops is purely savage!

dillinger escape plan - under the running board

Any tech band that claims not to be influenced by this EP is either lying or not as good as they should be. 7 minutes that changed the face of extreme music.

dillinger escape plan - calculating infinity

You will never be able to play this album. Your tech band won't be able to beat this album. (Okay, I know there'll be a few exceptions to this, but, the fact is, you got there too late!)

Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy

THIS is Cryptopsy's best album, without any doubt. Lord Worm can get fucked. Rubbish! The two earlier albums with him on, musically are immense, vocally they're bad, and then the 'return' album he was on was a total joke. Mike deSalvo all the way.

Coalesce - Give Them Rope

Scuzzy, technical hardcore related sounds. Coalesce's most challenging release. Amazing stuff.
