My Cross To Bare - Entire Discography (3 EPs, 2 albums, 1 never released)

One of my favourite UK bands, and one of my worldwide favourite '-core' bands. Forget what deathcore is about these days, this is the real deal. My Cross To Bare were the band that (mostly) went on to become Mucofloris, and were harsher, heavier, slammier, and more crushing than most bands that would be considered heavier etc by genre definition. They were going a long while, and I put them on for a few gigs 'back in the day' when Tangaroa first started, and bands like Beecher, Narcosis, Unsanctum, Madman Is Absolute and all that were doing their earlier rounds as well. Absolutely sound people, and knew how to write crushingly heavy songs.



Their last recording 'Embolus' was supposed to be coming out on Siege of Amida Records, but never did as they split up before it made it. For anyone who heard 'Lex Talionis' in all its splendorous, slaughterous glory, then make sure you don't miss this absolute exclusive posting of this previously unreleased stormer of an album. Also, in the same file are the first 3 EPs / demos that MCTB recorded, all littered with monstrous riffs and awesome songs.

Arkangel - Prayers Upon Deaf Ears

so, a little ramble for you... Canvas, the first proper band I was in, played with Arkangel a couple of months before this CD came out, in Belgium, and even though there was only about 50 people there, and Arkangel were all about 15/16 at the time, it was one of THE most vicious things I've ever seen. It was actually scary the way it erupted in the venue whilst they were playing. Every song, bodies all over the place! Somehow they managed to capture the sickening harshness on this recording perfectly, and whilst they've never matched it for out and out intensity, Arkangel are still a quality band, and each of their albums has their awesomeness.

acme - to reduce the choir to one soloist

slowly this release is gaining legendary status, and quite rightly. the record that (pretty much) started the whole german metalcore thing, that spawned morser, systral and the like. ultra slayer-ified riffs, filthied up and topped with sick vocals and some quality samples.

a life once lost - A Great Artist

yes, so, it's a complete and utter meshuggah rip off, but, bloody hell this is a stomper of an album! they've never quite hit the mark as perfectly as this one i don't think, still a good band, but this is the one! get yer groove on.

spread the disease - we bleed from many wounds

old, probably not very known, but harsh riffiness you should have. from hardcore origins but more deathly and has occasional carcass-isms.

swing kids - discography

pre-the locust, three one g records, only short for a discography, but none the less essential for fans of screamy / -core / -spazzy sorta stuffs.

robotosaurus - 3 albums

3 cd file, very oddball lot, harsh, shrieky, twisty... have a listen if you're into your converge and the like.

reprisal - boundless human stupidity

italian mosh thrash stuff, a la arkangel and late morning again, some thunderous riffage, and the first song is an absolute monster! some ace matrix samples too.

Heresy Of Thieves - The Montana Complex

Hefty sounding thrashy, hardcore-y, death-y, riff-y mosh from some more North West England folks. Here we have Heresy of Thieves who have been plying their trade for a fair little while, and had a previous release out on Thirty Days of Night Records, they decided to release this, their final CD for free download everywhere, and a stonker it is too.
